Amidst the many claims on our time and energies, opportunities for meaningful conversations are rare. St. John’s is dedicated to those creating space for those deeper conversations. These small groups are meant to deepen spiritual understanding and insight, as well as deepen friendships.

Lectio Divina

Mondays at 6:30 pm | Library

In Lectio Divina, we join in a circle to read and contemplate a Gospel passage. We invite the spirit to awaken within each of us through the living word, reflect on the way of Jesus and deepen our connection to God.  In this heart-centered practice, we read the passage three times fostering deeper reflection with each round. The Gospel is usually the one for the upcoming Sunday, which allows our relationship with the word to grow over the course of the week. Contact: Elise Sanders

Wednesday Spirit Group

Wednesdays at 12:00 pm | Library

We gather for an hour each Wednesday at noon, between September and May, to discuss spiritual life, aided by a scripture study, spiritual exercise or selected reading.  Recently we read Parker Palmer’s On the Brink of Everything, and are currently reading Thomas Merton’s New Seeds of Contemplation.   All are welcome.  Join us!
