About our Community
St. John’s is a community learning to embody Jesus’ Way of Love. We express this through five primary values: sacredness, belonging, spiritual nourishment, creativity, and transformation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are your services like?
We have a “liturgical” style of worship, which uses words from the Book of Common Prayer and from around the Anglican Communion. You can get more information about different service styles here.
Can I receive communion?
In a word: yes. Holy Communion is the table of Christ, not of the church, and Jesus welcomed everyone. That’s all we need to know.
Can I bring kids?
Of course. We love children and don’t mind that they sometimes need to make a joyful noise. They are welcome in our services, and we have other options for them too, described here.
What if I’m unfamiliar with the Episcopal Church or liturgical worship?
We’ve got you covered. Our worship bulletins explain everything you need to know.
I’ve been hurt by church before. How do I know I will be welcome?
We aren’t perfect by any means, but we radically affirm and welcome all kinds of people—including queer / LGBTQ, BIPOC, old, young, rich, poor, the differently-abled, and everyone else. Come learn with us what it really means to embody love in word and action, in how we are structured and how we express faith in this world.
