The title for Easter Season Thursday evening book discussion is Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. This book was suggested by Earth Matters Committee.
“Robin Wall Kimmerer is writer of rare grace. She writes about the natural world from a place of such abundant passion that one can never quite see the world the same way after having seen it through Kimmerer’s eyes. In Braiding Sweetgrass, she takes us on a journey that is every bit as mystical as it is scientific, as sacred as it is historical, as clever as it is wise. She is a great teacher, and her words are a hymn of love to the world.” – Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love
For Thursday, April 8, please read the preface and first section, ‘Tending Sweetgrass’, about 57 pages in the paperback edition. Join us weekly via Zoom (see weekly email for link) for discussion from 7-8pm. We hope to post pages to be read a week in advance, but you may expect to read 45-60 pages per week depending upon the section of the book and the nature of the preceding week’s discussion. Lois Neve and Caron Stebinger will facilitate discussions. Please contact one of us if you have any questions.
If you are unable to join us on Thursdays, we invite you to pick up a copy of the book and read along with us. The paperback is readily available at local bookstores and on amazon. It is also available on Kindle.
