St. John’s is committed to helping our children to learn, grow and wonder in a safe, loving environment by providing spiritual, educational and service opportunities.

Children’s Education

Godly Play (Ages 3, 4, 5 and K)

Children will meet in the Godly Play room at 10am. In this class the children make meaning through story, wonder and play. One Sunday a month all children are invited to the Library to practice with our music leaders during the service and then they will return to the service to sing for the congregation.

Sunday School (1st – 4th grades, older kids always welcome!)

During the 10:00 service, children will begin in the sanctuary with their families (approximately 5 minutes). After the opening hymn, children are invited to Sunday School with their leaders. We will meet as a whole group to learn the Bible story and then in breakout groups to delve deeper into the lesson with age level groups. Get ready for science, art, acting, cooking and more as we learn about the Bible and our own Christianity. One Sunday a month all children are invited to the Library to practice with our music leaders during the service and then they will return to the service to sing for the congregation. Twice a month the children will return for communion.

Nursery

We have a Nursery located on the lower level for children aged 6 weeks–3+ years. The nursery is open from 9:15am—11:15am on Sundays during the program year. Children of all ages are welcome to use the nursery so that adults can attend the adult forum on Sundays at 9:30am. Our staff are Safe Church Trained, and background checked as are all of our Godly Play and Sunday School teachers.
