St. John’s is committed to supporting youth through a variety of programs that help them to grow in their faith through community, travel, service, worship and education.
Youth Group
5th—8th grade students.
Students focus on community building, social justice issues and Bible stories in a more active environment. We meet Sunday evenings starting on 9/8 from 5:30 – 7pm with pizza!
Pilgrims
For 2024/25 program year, students will be in 9th – 11th grades.
The Pilgrim Program at St. John’s is a strong, beloved tradition that guides the youth through discerning their spiritual values and beliefs and culminates in an international pilgrimage. Traditionally, the pilgrimage happens before confirmation to help prepare the youth for their next steps towards becoming members of the Episcopal Church. The current pilgrims will be traveling to South Africa in June of 2025. We meet on Sundays from 11:30 – 1:00.
Confirmation
For the 2025/26 program year, students will be in 10th and 11th grades.
The confirmation students will spend a year meeting weekly to learn more about their Episcopal faith as well as their beliefs and values. They will be confirmed by the bishop in the spring of 2026.
Centennial Fund Group
This group runs in the years opposite confirmation, so for the 11th and 12th graders in 2024/25.
This year the students will learn more about philanthropy, participate in service work and discuss current events and spiritual questions with the leaders of St. John’s and in our community. Meeting times TBD.
