How people all over the world–in ancient and modern times–pictured God in art, stories, and music. Some famous and some not-famous attempts to gain the “slenderest knowledge of higher things” and why, since we can’t help but use metaphors, rituals, and symbols, we should find the ones that speak to us most deeply.
