We will be keeping you updated about who is winning in this friendly competition to help us learn some of the stories of people in our tradition. Charles Taliaferro will also be writing a weekly blog to share more information about the saints.

Five Sundays at 10am during Lent (February 21 – March 21)
St. John’s has launched a Lenten storytelling podcast! Each week from February 21st through March 21st, find a new podcast here featuring a member of our community telling a faith story. Then, at 10am each Sunday during Lent, gather to talk more about our own connections to their story. Our hope is that these stories and this time together will bring us closer as a community and give us time to think about what has shaped us and how God is at work in our own lives.

Thursdays, beginning February 25, 7:00pm
Join us during Lent to read and discuss together Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman. It is widely available in Paperback, AudioBook, and Kindle.
We will meet by Zoom on Thursdays from 7-8pm beginning on Thursday the 25th of February. Plan to read the first chapter, as well as the preface and foreword. Zoom meeting instructions to follow in our Thursday e-news. For those of you that appreciate Lenten meditations, I suggest Meditations of the Heart, also by Thurman, which includes 54 of his most well known meditations.
Saturday, March 20, 9:30am
Listening to the Spirit – Please join us from 9:30am to 11:30am for an Lenten quiet retreat. We will focus on the theme of “Listening to the Spirit,” and will find time for peace, quiet, and calm in the midst of this chaotic world. We have both Zoom and non-Zoom options!
