Spotlight on Kids 5.12.22

By May 11, 2022May 12th, 2022No Comments

I love to plan for summer in January and February! The thoughts of all the possibilities, trips and camps are fun to ponder in the frigid winter months. However, with the onset of warm (finally) weather and as I stare down the end of the 2021-2022 school year, summer seems too close to handle. I see the desperate posts on social media of parents searching for another camp or two to fill their child’s summer and to give them a chance to work. St. John’s has a camp for kids entering 1st – 5th grades in the fall and ALL are invited so check it out below! Due to the pandemic, many parents are worried if their children need extra help to get them caught up academically and socially. Trying to create a schedule that includes camps, educational enrichment and a possible family trip never mind the parents’ work schedules are not for the faint of heart.

Here at church we will be having our last Godly Play and Sunday School classes on May 22nd and we will move to our summer service schedule on May 29th which will include one service with Children’s Chapel at 10am. After being online for church for over a year I am acutely aware of how much I need an in person church community. We will be offering many opportunities for children, youth and families to get together this summer and would LOVE to have input from YOU about what your family would like to be a part of and what you might be able to help lead! From service projects to outings and get togethers, staying connected is key for our mental and spiritual health. Please see below for a list of just some of the opportunities we will provide through St. John’s CYF program this summer. Please reach out with ideas and possibilities as well and enjoy the mad rush of May as we transition into the new schedules and opportunities that June provides!
