The Season of Creation is being recognized by faith communities around the world as a time for people to renew their relationship with God and all creation through celebration, prayer, and action. During this special season, St. John’s invites you to join a walk through Roberts Bird Sanctuary offered at 10:30am on October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi who particularly loved all of nature. After our 9:00am outdoor service at Beard’s Plaisance, we will meet up at the Lake Harriet Bandshell (a brief drive or a 10 minute walk from the service), walk through the Bird Sanctuary, and either return the same way or loop back along the north side of Lake Harriet.
Masks must be worn due to the narrow paths. Please bring a brief nature-based prayer or poem to share.
Space will be limited, so we plan to host 2 groups (up to 14 people per group). Please sign up below and contact Doug Mensing if you have any questions. If more than 25-30 people wish to attend, we will consider a third group or a second outing in the afternoon.
