Join the Minneapolis Earth Day Cleanup on Saturday, April 22, 2023! Drop in anytime between 9:30 am and 12 pm at any of 40+ park locations throughout Minneapolis and help clean up our beautiful city.
The Earth Day Cleanup has become the largest community service project in Minneapolis over the last 29 years. Since 2008, more than 23,000 people have removed more than 165,000 pounds of garbage.
It’s free to participate, no registration needed, just choose a site from our list and show up. We will provide bags and gloves, you help pick up junk that accumulated over the winter, and our partner City of Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling will process the collected bags. Eco-Fairs
April 22, 1 to 5 PM: “Electrify Everything Expo” at Oak Grove Presbyterian. This event focuses on electric vehicles and residential alternatives to fossil fuels.
They have a terrific lineup of speakers, including Bill Grant, former Deputy Commissioner of MN Commerce who led the fight against Line 3… Buff Grace of MN Interfaith Power and Light speaking on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) as it relates to non-profits getting rebates for solar, heat pumps, battery storage, energy efficient windows, insulation etc. Also – Alexis Troschinetz from CERTs talking about heat pumps as a major climate solution….
They will also be doing tours of green projects done at Oak Grove, including rooftop solar, EVs and EV Chargers, rain gardens, native plant garden, along with the super insulation of the Education wing……. All practical stuff that may be of interest to your church, your members and community.

April 22, 10 to 6 PM: Eco-Expo in Eden Prairie Center. This one has a broader collection of ideas for creating an Eco Friendly environment. More details can be found here:

And what about the St John’s Eco-Fair? St John’s will have another Eco-Fair this year, but it will be a fall event, Oct 7. The committee will start planning for the fair in the next few weeks.
