Thanks to all the members of St. John’s who are busily sewing masks. Several are running low on supplies. We anticipate Governor Walz will ask people to wear masks in public when the stay-at-home order lifts, so I’d like to make the following appeal:
Donations we are accepting: White or off-white Thread; Elastic (1/4”); 100% Quilters Cotton; and 100% Flannel Cotton. On the fabric, nothing smaller than one yard please. Drop thread or fabric in the drop boxes, and we will transform into something useful and wearable!
Have masks to share? We’d love to have any masks you can share with our seniors. Drop them in one of the drop boxes at these locations:
Drop off locations:
Pete
4313 Morningside Road, Edina
Brigitte
5628 York Ave S, Edina
Sarah
5313 Morgan Avenue South, Minneapolis
Joanie
4300 Linden Hills Blvd., Minneapolis
Jenny
3309 Park Avenue, Minneapolis
Barb
4025 Queen Ave. South, Minneapolis
Volunteers will be collecting masks from the drop off locations and delivering them to designated donation sites. We plan to continue this ministry as long as a need remains, so keep sewing. Thanks in advance for helping keep our doctors, nurses, and other medical staff safe! Design and sewing questions can be directed to Sarah Parker or Melissa Pederson. Other questions can be directed to Peter Clayburgh (or by phone at 773-569-0803)..
