Farewell Blessing to Jane Gilgun Sunday, August 16th at 9am

St. John’s beloved and long-time member Jane Gilgun is moving to Rhode Island, and this Sunday, August 16, is her last Sunday with us (of course we hope she will be back to visit many times). Please join us during the Live Zoom Service at 9am Sunday to worship together and to bless Jane during the Peace. If we were meeting in person, we’d invite Jane to the front of the church for all of us to lay hands on her, speak words of love and gratitude and blessing, and send her wrapped in the love and warmth St. John’s will always have for her. But we can still provide her the same love, warmth and blessing over zoom!

I’d love as many St. John’s parishioners as possible to join in on Sunday. Jane has been involved in many aspects of St. John’s life, including creating oral histories, cooking many Wednesday night dinners for children’s choir families, leading and being part of the Contemplative Prayer service, the Innovative Liturgy Planning team, lectio divina, gardening, and being incredibly generous in many other ways. We can’t thank her enough for who she is and how she has done faith, life and ministry with us.

Here is what Jane has to say about her love of St. John’s:

My experience at St. John’s has transformed me. I am grateful. I will carry the spirit of St. John’s with me wherever I may be.

Thank you.
Peace,
Jane
