Rector’s Reflection 4.20.22

By April 20, 2023No Comments

Beloved St. John’s community,

In honor of Earth Day (Saturday, April 22), St. John’s will be hosting a guest preacher, the Rev. Kerri Meyer of Good Courage Farm this coming Sunday, April 23 (Today!). Good Courage Farm is a nonprofit agrarian ministry in central Minnesota, connected to the Episcopal church, in which neighbors of all faiths and none come together to work for food justice, witness God’s love in all creation, and treat the earth with reverence and respect. A group from St. John’s has committed to be one of several churches that are “vineyard stewards” at the Farm: to care for a row of vines over the course of one agricultural year while rooting deeply in Hebrew scriptures and Jesus’ Way of Love, learning with each other and the earth. Mother Kerri will preach at both services this Sunday and host a lively adult forum between the services. Please come to hear Mother Kerri and learn all about Good Courage Farm!

Also, Good Courage Farm is hosting a volunteer day at the Farm this Saturday, Earth Day – you are welcome to attend (and preferably also RSVP). The Farm also has weekly “Pie + Prayer” on Wednesday evenings to which all are invited.

Please come Sunday to hear all about Good Courage Farm, and find out yet another creative, innovative way the Episcopal Church is following Jesus and caring for the Earth!

With love and blessing,
Lisa
