There’s music in the air – here, there, and E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E! So many opportunities to join the singing – to join the song. It may begin and end for you with singing in the congregation on Sunday mornings. And what a wonderful thing that is! Maybe playing a musical instrument or singing in a choir or with a collection of others gathering around sound and sight, around movement and mystery. Wherever you find yourself, you are welcome at St. John’s!
The Sunday Service Choir continues to meet Saturdays and Sundays before leading the people’s worship song at 10am on Sunday mornings year-round. Wednesday Choir nights continue beginning with a meal together and followed by opportunities for all ages, 2yrs through 102!
New for the 2024-25 season, we’ve revived a singing opportunity for 4th – 8th graders and added a singing circle for all ages and musical abilities.
- Meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 6:30pm, 4th – 8th grade singers will work together to learn songs to sing in Sunday worship services monthly throughout the academic year, developing choral skills while building community.
- Meeting on select Wednesdays at 7:45pm, the Contemplative Chant Circle will gather around simple, meditative chants sung in community. All are invited to join – sitting in the circle or anywhere in the Sanctuary space. Physically singing or not, listening with open hearts and prayers in peace.
